Entry 6
The transcribed personal written records of Johnathan Altman in relation to his debaucherous research in Relative Magics and their implications. The staff of the Saunders College of Magics of Boston, Massachusetts, procured them as evidence in the lead-up to his trial.

I want to write about my accomplishments with the nails and spell work, but a shadow looms over my every thought. The Jones boy is not someone I would want to marry my sister. While his financials are in order and seem as though they would stay stable, I now see that is not enough. My conversation with him was difficult as any topic brought up quickly fell, and he gave little to no interest in anything other than his financial interests. While this can be an admirable quality, he was nothing more than it. His thoughts on my sister were sparse, and I do not bear hopes that it will improve. My sister has a strong will, but she will be stifled by this man not because she is weaker but because the world gives her no other choice.
I have tried to will my father to end the marriage contract. He has refused. He may read the romantics, but he does not take them to heart. I see why my sister no longer reads those books because they promised what she could not have. I did not talk to my sister all the time between my meeting with her betrothed and my departer. I could not stand to look her in the eyes.
When I met Dr. Summers at the train station, my usual anger at the man left me, and it feels childish now, in the wake of the incoming marriage. Summers noticed my change in disposition. He did not pester or push me. When I told him of my sister's plight, he told me he had a lawyer friend who might be able to help us. I thanked the man profusely. My mood has brightened but I do not truly feels as though I can be happy.
The Power in dates.
Dates and times of the year are important for practitioners to get greater strength out of their spell craft. There are certain times related to important events in world history and personal history that amplify or dampen magical prowess. That is why keeping track of these dates are important to keep in mind when attempting great feats of magic.
Dr. Altman
Notes from Mr. Mathew Maroe are on the evidence above. 1911 August 17th
I am curious as to how this may relate to the disappearance of Humphrey Jones. Could we connect the Altmans to the disappearance or not?
