Updated schedule and work talk

Hello, readers. I know it's been a while since I actually released a regular blog post, and that’s on me. I never really thought about how only posting twice a week would be so slow. This has helped me keep writing outside of school, and that’s great, but my brother came to me yesterday and told me that Steven King wrote three pages a day. I already knew this, but it helped me consider that if I really want to be a writer, then I have to write not just twice a week but every day. That’s why I’m going to start a new schedule next week. I will be releasing new writing pieces on Monday, Thursday, and Friday. On Friday, I will also write a blog post. So, that is the new schedule, and I am excited to do more as a writer.

I am going to talk about the status of the current series I am writing. Starting with Grillfe. Grillfe is the name of a character I role-play in a campaign of Edge of the Empire. He is a Twi’lek fast-talking former rebel and failed revolutionary. Also, he has a country accent. Now, at the start, he was just supposed to be a silly guy, but I really found the character later on and loved him so much I needed to write a short five-chapter series about his flaws. I have gotten into the habit of writing these short chapters in my characters’ backstories just to flesh them out in a way that labeling the facts just doesn’t work. It is a lot of fun and makes me understand the character better. For Grillfe, because of what I’ve written, the image of him as a failed revolutionary has become a powerful one, and it changed the way I play him. Now he is this failed revolutionary trying their best to be a revolutionary again outside of the rebellion.

Heroes from Nebraska is a series I’ve been thinking about a lot. I have the story I want to tell, but I just do not have the energy right now. The Heroes From is supposed to be an anthology series to set up a superhero world I’ve crafted. I hope to return to it someday soon, if not just to finish Nebraska.

The Diaries of Johnathan Altman has been really fun to write. The idea started a while ago when I learned about cults of secret gods like the ancient cult of Persephone and thought of a world where the more people know of a spell, the weaker it is, and that idea eventually changed into another. I hope I can reveal it soon. But after I had made the magic system, I needed a way to introduce it. I was going to start with a young group who found one of Altman’s books and learned to subvert the world. But then I decided to write about the person who would write the book. And then I got to the place I am. I’m nervous about the pacing right now because I would like it to be a longer series, but I don’t want it to be drawn out. So we’ll see if I can land the mark.

Anyway, I hope that the new schedule works and that you all like the increased load of content.
